She still is far behind developmentally, especially in writing. I am going to really have to work with her this summer. The good thing is that she really tries to improve. She doesn't get bored of working and learning. We have a little dry erase board with the kindergarten writing lines on it. We keep it in the car to pull out all the times we are waiting for carpool, or swim practice or baseball games. She loves Hooked on Phonics. Now if I could just keep from getting frustrated....
Meghan is really beginning to think about what she is saying and using correct grammar. I was getting worried that she would start her sentences with "Me" for the rest of her life.
I am now laying out her clothes for her the night before and she is getting up and getting dressed by her self in the morning.
She swam across the pool last weekend.
She is always singing. The words maybe unclear but the tune is there.
She almost never battles me over control issues anymore.
She eats well and goes to bed sooooooo good!
Now that the control issues are gone she is surprisingly adaptable to most things.
She LOVES grapes.
She loves playing on the trampoline.
She loves being carried.
She loves frozen Eggo pancakes in the morning.
When I think about how far we have come in just 5 months I can't imagine how things will be in 7 more when she will have been home a year. I think this is going to be a great summer. I just want to play and have family time.
