The Cake!

Ok, so you Betty Crockers and Martha Stewarts out there might not think this is all that- but I do. This is the typical Birthday Cake that my kids receive:

Or,

This is about as creative as I get, store bought cake and I go buy some animals to put on it. So the idea of my first attempt at a homemade birthday cake was pretty daunting for me.

I had to go simple, and even then I made a mistake, good thing I made extra cake. Anyway, I was impressed.

So the Birthday Girl is 6. We had a small party with family friends and the next door neighbor girls. The next door neighbor girls were adopted from Russia, one last September and one last month! Our family friends have an adopted 8 year old from Russia, home a year longer than Meghan (to the day). They also have an exchange student from Spain with them. So it was quite the international party.

We had a fun little party. She was thrilled- of course- it was all about her!
