*** I am having trouble uploading pictures right now- as soon as I can I will!
We made it! We left Hilton Head Monday at 7am and we arrived at our hotel in Taipei at 9:30 am on Wednesday. What a trip. We got here yesterday, settled in and then went to Chung Yi to meet Meghan. I will post about that adventure after I finish with travel. I don't want the blog to be too long.
Eva Airlines: I can't say enough good things about them. Definitely bump up to the Evergreen Class - it is a whole new world. The flights were long but peaceful except for a poor baby wailing in the back for the whole 18 hours. I had my earplugs so I was just fine.
The one warning I would give is that they weighed all the carryon baggage. The weight limit was 7 kilos (under 14 pounds). Tom had his Bible, some other books, some shoes and clothes and toiletries. It was 15 kilos! We had to do some serious shifting. Couldn't put in in the checked luggage (which had plenty of room) because it was checked through back in Atlanta. We will plan accordingly on the way home.
We are staying at the Howard Plaza Hotel. It appears to be in a great part of town. We will do more exploring today. The hotel has many restaurants and shops but the rooms are shabby and out dated. And small! Not like the internet pictures!!! We may have to upgrade to a suite when we bring Meghan home today just to fit her in. And I haven't slept in a bed this uncomfortable since...but I can't complain because I just slept 12 hours. It's 6am Taiwan Time and I am ready to go! So who cares about the hotel rooms - we are going to have a great day today!
